> SACRED VESSELS
> 2003
> SACRED VESSELS is comprised of forty nine
sparkling paintings on paper which depict imaginary
vessels containing potions or powders that offer the
promise of wisdom, inner calmness or a joyful and
prosperous life. This unique work explores the
relationship between art and antiquities. Exhibited
amongst the drawings will be objects from the
archaeological and historical collections of Rugby and
Northampton. Showing the objects and drawings, not only
demonstrates Sally's broad inspirations, but the works
together raise issues about how outlooks change over
time.Learn

> NON-ESSENTIAL SIGNAGE
> 2003
This commission was a result of a combination of the
reorganization of Arts Council England and a relocation
of one of its regional offices which allowed Sally to
herald the new changes of this national arts
organization. She was able to express the impact of
change using a new approach in her work and expressing
the change on individuals.

> DAYS
> 2002
This autobiographical project represents 365 days of
Sally's life (Jan'01-Jan'02). This visual diary takes
the form of small square boxes accompanied by a brief
written caption with each entry inspired by a
particular event, sensation or emotion. Sally developed
a language of communication through words, patterns,
textures and colour that suggest - dinner with friends
- the expectation of a holiday - the death of a
parent.Learn

> MILLENIUM PROJECT
> 2000
> FRAGMENTS OF TIME AND THOUGHT Designed as a
celebration of the Millennium, Fragments of Time and
Thought contained 2000 paintings, one for each year
from 1AD to the year 2000. Each piece is an acrylic
painting on dense watercolour paper in the same
identical format, a rectangle within a rectangle. Each
painting differs in colour, texture, detail and form.
Every part has a specific year and corresponding name.
The names are taken from History, Latin, Religion,
Myths and the book "A Thousand and One Nights". Some of
the paintings capture major historical events, while
others celebrate the past two millennia of human
creativity. Each painting captures a small part of the
rich culture history created by human existence. The
piece was donated to the British Red Cross and was the
first exhibition at Liberty’s new art gallery in
London.Learn

> ARTJONGG
> 1999
> ARTJONGG This piece is a massive game board 21
feet by 9 feet exhibited as a public piece. The centre
of the board contains 40 canvasses surrounded by a
large black space displaying 80 paintings set in glass
tablets representing playing pieces. There are 1200
tokens, mini-drawings conceived to be used as confetti
by the public. The piece is based on an artist’s
continual manipulation of various elements in pursuit
of an aesthetic goal. This ever-changing desire to
balance the literally endless arrangement of form,
colour, texture and placement is a visual game. The
viewer can actually play by scattering the tokens over
the board in their own artistic search.Learn
