Count Me is fashioned from a multitude of colourful,
miniature square sculptures, each of which has been
handcrafted by the artist. Each bears a painted
abstract symbol inspired by scripts from the world’s
alphabets both ancient and modern (Sally likes to
call her visual language Hopian symbols). The
brightly coloured installation is like a dazzling
blanket, charged with folkloric energy and tradition
speaking to the viewer in an indecipherable and
mysterious yet joyful script.
